Configurable OKR Approval Workflow

The Approval Workflow is a feature that allows managerial oversight of OKR processes. For each Session using the Approval Workflow, OKRs will have different stages and users will have different capabilities depending on the OKR stage:

• In Draft: a user can edit anything, and submit the OKR for review once finalized

• Under Review: a user cannot make any edits, except withdrawing the approval

• Approved: a user can start updating their OKR progress, but cannot make any edits except withdrawing the approval

When evaluating how our customers use the Approval Workflow, we identified a need where sometimes a user would like to make edits to their OKR, the description for example, that cannot be done without withdrawing approval and requiring the OKR to be submitted for approval again.

Creating a Configurable Approval Workflow

We have now made it possible for Admins to control which OKR fields go through approval on a Session level. This has a few benefits for Admins and users:

• Save time managing OKR approvals
  Admins will spend less time having to reapprove OKRs that have previously been reviewed and approved

• Make changes quickly
  Users will be able to make edits to their OKRs quicker and instantly see changes live

• Flexibility for Sessions and Custom Fields
  Admins can customize which fields can be edited after an OKR is approved for each Session, and have control over which Custom Fields are allowed to be edited
